  • Lee Hart's 1802 "Membership Card"
This home page is about Lee Hart's "membership card" kits, based on the RCA COSMAC 1802 processor and the early ELF design for that CPU. Currently (Aug 2010) a Rev B kit is in progress, details and prices are below.. A few "Rev A" prototypes were produced in late 2009 and assembled and tested in 2010. The story of the design process and history has been moved to a "development" Web page. This page has links to Web pages about Rev A Membership Card constuction, details of revisions, software include assembler and FORTH, about 1802 history and resources, and other support. Until the "Rev B" product matures, use the "Rev A" resources to learn about the Membership Card and how to assemble and use it.

  • SamRayner.com // Changing the Boot Camp Drive Icon
After partitioning my iMac’s boot volume to accommodate Windows, I wished there was a way to differentiate between the two icons at a glance in Finder and on my desktop.

Unfortunately, changing the icon for an NTFS formatted volume isn’t as easy as just copying one across. There was a step by step guide to doing it on the OnMac Wiki though, so I went ahead creating an alternative.

  • Are iPads and Kindles better for the environment than books? - By Brian Palmer - Slate Magazine
Environmental analysis can be an endless balancing of this versus that. Do you care more about conserving water or avoiding toxic chemical usage? Minimizing carbon dioxide emissions or radioactive nuclear waste? But today, the Lantern has good news: There will be no Sophie's choice when it comes to e-books. As long as you consume a healthy number of titles, you read at a normal pace, and you don't trade in your gadget every year, perusing electronically will lighten your environmental impact.

  • iLunascape: Free iPad Browser Combines Tab Browsing With iPad-Specific UI
iLunascape allows for desktop-like tabbed browsing on the iPad (a first for a free app). Up to six tabs can be opened at the same time, and users can switch between them easily via thumb taps. Tabbed browsing works great (and fast), especially because iLunascape comes with a iPad-specific UI that takes into account how most people actually hold and use the device (see below).

  • Spoilers: The Official Vulture Statutes of Limitations -- Vulture
We refuse to believe that we have to wait until the series or the movie is out on DVD; that's crazy. If you care enough about a show to be upset at being spoiled, you should not be waiting a year to watch it. We're sorry. But how soon is too soon?

  • SLEDGEHAMMER AND WHORE
You can't construct a phenomenon from the outside-in. You can't will a show into the public's consciousness. Both of this year's breakout hits, Glee and Modern Family, had big buzz coming into the season. But that's because people who'd seen them knew they were good. They didn't just decide they needed them to be good and then set out to market them so, they actually KNEW they were. Both shows also have very strong creators who know television, know their own minds, and know what show they're making. These are not shows that could've been created by anybody--and that's not something you can say about most television. They are also decidedly NOT procedurals.

  • Pocket Metaverse iPad App Improves Life In Second Life [Review] | Cult of Mac
However, there is still a very large and very loyal SL contingent that is eager to access their digitized world wherever and whenever they can. Those people have been begging and pleading for a reliable Second Life viewer for the iPhone since day one. Those same people really began clamoring for something more mobile when the iPad came on the scene.

Pocket Metaverse Pro ($2.99) is just that app. With versions for the iPad and iPhone (and free versions to boot), Pocket Metaverse is more than adequate for accessing Second Life and other similar Open Grid virtual worlds while on the go.
